In the United States federal regulations require that in order to label coffee as "decaffeinated" that coffee must have had its caffeine level reduced by no less than 97.5 percent.
However, most Arabica coffees (the only kind of coffee variety that we sell) are about 1.36% caffeine by weight, normally. Thus our coffee beans are about 98.64% caffeine free even before anything is done to lower the caffeine content. Our decaffeination process has 97.5% of the caffeine removed. We can them make the following two statements (both of which will be true). Our Decaf has 97.5% of the caffeine removed. Or our decaf is 99+% caffeine-free. Confused? Let me give you a factual, absolute answer instead of a relative one. Our decaf coffee has about 2-4 milligrams of caffeine per cup.
